MS Cashes in on World Cup

Germany’s win over Argentina in the World Cup final dashed the hopes and dreams not only of Messi the Magician and his Argentine amigos, but also those of Mr19 who, half a world away, had only Higuain to blame for his inability to complete what, up until the final game, had been a most impressive run in Team Roux’s World Cup Bracket Challenge.  But in the end, it just wasn’t meant to be (perhaps because he did not pay his entry fee).

Instead, a journeyman entry peaked in the critical stages, and MS Takes the Cash! surged to victory, edging out Jbowers53 by the slimmest of margins.  And true to his name, the collective pool of $260 ($270, if Mr19 pays up) will be donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in support of Team Roux’s upcoming participation in the Bike MS Finger Lakes Challenge.

As a consolation to the losers in the pool, be aware that as a result of MS Takes the Cash!’s standing on his head, grinding out the victory, and unparalleled generosity, you are all able to write-off the full value of your entry fee ($10) as a deduction on your 2014 tax return (assuming you have, or soon will have, paid up… And pay taxes).  So, in effect, everyone wins!
