Riders:
The Washington, DC ride posed a special challenge to many of the Roux Riders… being that the ride total was not evenly split over the two days as they were used to. The team experienced its first Century (or 100-mile) ride… which meant that bums were 33% more sore than usually accustomed. When you also factor in the 7-year cicada brood that emerged, the rain, and the mysterious ax-weilding woodsman that put everyone’s mind the opposite of “at ease,” the ride was memorable – if not all for the best reasons.
Several new riders joined our gang, including Ann (long-time rider Ethan’s wife), Matt (Ethan’s brother-in-law), and Joe “the Flying Squirrel” (note: he is not actually a flying squirrel).
Collectively, team Roux raised just under $10,000 and earned the Rookie Team MVP award.
