Riders: Tom, Julie, Lou
Keeping true to their word, The Boston Culinary Team prepared to ride up a mountain one summer morning in 2008. They weren’t bikers. They didn’t own road bikes (or any bikes in some cases). They couldn’t lean on a teammate to guide them through their first 150 mile bike ride along the foothills of Colorado. They did not train much for the ride; to say they were a little nervous would be an understatement.
Parents, relatives, coworkers, friends thought they were nuts.
After two days of riding, farther than any of them would ever dream of riding, it was a great sight to see Eileen (Tom’s wife) and her mother at the finish line welcoming them and giving them heartfelt praise knowing what they had just accomplished. They weren’t done yet, and new riders were on the horizon.
